The Shanghai Shenhua striker told Eurosport that his sole focus is winning the African Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast. 19:01 GMT: Fiorentina have no plans to sell striker Stevan Jovetic despite the signing of Giuseppe Rossi. The 22-year-old has been linked with moves to Manchester City and Juventus, however, Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has reiterated his club's stance to keep hold of the player. "Giuseppe Rossi is our future, as well as our team. But it is not the case to think that the arrival of Rossi opens the door to a possible sale of Jovetic," he is quoted as saying on Sky Sports.

The former Roma man has been unable to strike a new deal since his old one expired in December and will now look for a new club. 13.10 GMT: Everton manager David Moyes has said he is ready to send Ross Barkley out on loan again in order to aid his development.

Moyes sent the 19-year-old midfielder to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday in September, but recalled him two months later to provide cover for injuries.

The Goodison Park manager said Barkley needed to get regular football elsewhere before he could be ready to play for Everton on a regular basis.

Reports suggest that Drogba, whose shoot-out penalty won the Champions League for the Blues in May, is likely to return to Europe six months after leaving Stamford Bridge.

10.20 GMT: Fiorentina are set to strengthen their bid for Champions League football by adding Giuseppe Rossi to their ranks.

The former Manchester United striker, 25, is expected to formalise the transfer at some point on Monday after the Viola announced the deal on Friday, with a fee of around ¬11 million expected to change hands.

10.00 GMT: Rangers captain Lee McCulloch is getting all nostalgic, saying how much he would like to see former Ibrox stars Kenny Miller, Kris Boyd and Steven Smith return to the club from the MLS.

09.35 GMT: Savio Nsereko will not be given a contract at Bundesliga III club Preussen Munster after the deal fell through at the last minute.

The club had already booked Nsereko's flight to their winter training camp but, after final negotiations, general manager Carsten Gockel told Munstersche Zeitung: "After the recent talks, this [a contract] is out of the question."

09.20 GMT: Schalke have entered the race to sign Frankfurt right-back Sebastian Jung, according to German newspaper kicker.

Jung, 22, has been one of the key players for the Bundesliga’s surprise package this season. The full-back has played every minute of all 17 league games, scoring one goal and earning himself a place in the Germany squad in November.

08.45 GMT: Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo has hinted that Joey Barton could make his loan from QPR into a longer-term deal after impressing in Ligue 1. "He was described as an animal, but he is just the opposite," Anigo said. "He is funny, intelligent and fights for victory.

"We can see that the team has been lifted by his competitive spirit. He is now established as a leader in our group. He is very happy here, and maybe he has found the right club for him. Should he desire [to stay], it could be very good."

08.02 GMT: Australian club Perth Glory have ruled out making a move for Stoke City forward Michael Owen. "Michael is a player who comes with a high pedigree, but it's not the direction I want to take the club," Perth coach Ian Ferguson said in a statement. 07.30 GMT:Lewis Holtby's move from Schalke to Tottenham could be completed before the summer if the sides can agree on a transfer fee, reported to be in the region of £1.6 million. Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to loan out goalkeeper David de Gea as he begins his search for a new shot-stopper. The Daily Mirror reports Ferguson has lost patience with the Spaniard after giving him ample opportunities since his move to Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid. It is claimed that Stoke City's Asmir Begovic is being considered as a possible replacement, as is Liverpool's own Spain international Pepe Reina.

The Reds, meanwhile, appear set to miss out on Cagliari defender Davide Astori. A £7 million bid has apparently been launched for the 25-year-old by Brendan Rodgers, but interest from Southampton may scupper the deal, according to the Daily Mail. The Saints have reportedly offered £9.5 million for the two-time Italy international.

QPR have targeted Marseille's Loic Remy as a man who could help them out of their relegation battle. An £8 million offer is on the table, The Sun states, while manager Harry Redknapp flew to France to watch the striker and sat beside Marseille president Vincent Labrune during the French Cup clash with Guingamp. A deal may be close, with Marseille confirming interest in Remy, but should it fall through Andre-Pierre Gignac is lined up as another potential recruit.
