Manchester United winger Nani could be on his way to Arsenal in January, with a £20 million deal reportedly in the offing. The Sun claims Arsene Wenger is ready to swoop for the Portugal international as a potential replacement for Theo Walcott - whose future remains unclear as protracted contract negotiations continue. Zenit St Petersburg, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are also linked to the 26-year-old, but it is believed the Gunners are his club of choice.

United's rivals Manchester City are also in the news on Tuesday, this time linked with Sampdoria’s Spanish midfielder Pedro Obiang. The 20-year-old is being monitored by last season's Premier League champions, according to the Daily Mail. Roberto Mancini is also understood to be interested in a move for Corinthians midfielder Paulinho, who is valued at £16 million by the Brazilian club.

Meanwhile, Mancini is reportedly set to give enigmatic striker Mario Balotelli more time, with widespread press reports stating the Italian will not be sold in January. Mancini was scathing in his assessment of Balotelli after Sunday's Manchester derby but is understood to have no plans to sell him at this stage.

After their loss to Fulham on Monday evening, Newcastle are prepared to part ways with Demba Ba, the Mirror claims. The striker recently turned down a contract extension, leading to speculation he will leave the club as soon as the transfer window opens. Reports suggest Alan Pardew is looking at Marseille's Loic Remy as a replacement.
