Chelsea are lining up a shock move for Barcelona's Sergio Busquets, according to the Sunday People. It is believed Blues scout Scott McLachlan has travelled to Spain to see Busquets in person, but a deal will have to wait until next season with Barca declaring they will do no business in January. £30 million is understood to be the asking price for the midfielder.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is also looking to add to his squad, with Bayern Munich's Luis Gustavo reportedly a key target once the transfer window re-opens. The Sunday Mirror claims the ongoing injury woes of Abou Diaby have forced Wenger to look for midfield reinforcements, and the 25-year-old ticks all the right boxes. Meanwhile, Gustavo is believed to be seeking a move away from Germany as he is currently finding life difficult under manager Jupp Heynckes.

Still on Arsenal and the Daily Mail claims Theo Walcott is on the verge of leaving the club after protracted contract negotiations hit another snag late last week. Wenger has expressed his frustration over the situation, but it is understood Walcott is holding out for more than the current £80,000-a-week offer. Walcott is also after more game time in a central striker role and the next few weeks could prove pivotal in the saga for both club and player.
