Liverpool's Daniel Agger may be set for a reunion with manager Rafa Benitez, with the Napoli boss understood to be keen on the defender.

The Guardian reports Benitez is eager to make the most of Agger's situation at Anfield by taking him on loan once the January transfer window opens. It is said Napoli chiefs have already contacted Liverpool in order to negotiate the move, and Agger is willing to move on after losing his place in Brendan Rodgers' starting XI recently.

Agger was brought to Liverpool by Benitez from Brondby in 2006, however young France international Mamadou Sakho appears to be the preferred option at Anfield, opening the door for Serie A side Napoli to swoop.

Everton are close to boosting the depth of their squad, with deals for Dundee United starlets Andrew Robertson and John Souttar close to completion, according to the Daily Mirror. Left-back Robertson is viewed as the ideal long-term replacement for Leighton Baines, while Souttar may move alongside his friend as a number of English clubs track the centre-back. A move for the pair could occur in January.

Finally, Borussia Dortmund are keen on signing Sunderland's Ji Dong-Won. Bild claims the South Korean could be on his way back to the Bundesliga in January after having a loan spell with Augsburg last season. The transfer fee is said to be minimal for a club of Dortmund's stature.
