Barcelona have begun seriously tracking in-form Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, with the Spanish giants viewing the Welshman as a potential key member of their squad regeneration next summer.

The Daily Mail reports Barca scouts watched Ramsey in the Gunners' past four matches -- including their victory over Hull on Wednesday evening -- and Wales' past two internationals against Belgium and Macedonia. It is said the Premier League leaders would not be willing to part with the 22-year-old for anything less than 50 million pounds.

Perhaps moving in the other direction, though, is Cesc Fabregas. The same report indicates those in power in north London have yet given up hope of luring the former Arsenal captain back to the club, particularly if Barcelona launch an audacious bid for Ramsey.

Liverpool, meanwhile, hope to freshen up their squad with the addition of Swedish teenager Valmir Berisha. The 17-year-old could move to Anfield in the summer, according to The Sun, after Brendan Rodgers' scouts returned with glowing reports on the forward after the Under-17 World Cup. Arsenal, Inter Milan and Manchester United are also believed to be interested in Berisha.

Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic may be bound for pastures new in January as Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund circle. The Daily Mirror states the Portuguese club would be willing to listen to offers in the region of 20 million pounds, but United and Inter -- who both need to bolster their roster in the middle of the pitch -- could spark a bidding war which would see his price skyrocket.
