Liverpool face a battle to secure Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore with talkSPORT claiming that Serie side Roma and French club Lyon expected to do battle for the Argentina international. Pastore has failed to shine with for PSG this season, failing to find the back of the net in just 11 appearances for the reigning French champions. And the one-time big-money signing’s lack lustre performances have led to rumours that Liverpool could make a 17 million pound move for the 24-year-old. But the Reds pursuit could be scuppered from the continent with hints that a move back to Italy with Roma could be on the cards while Lyon could fancy gaining from their rival’s loss.

Young Chelsea midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah could be about to join Leeds United with the Mirror claiming the 18-year-old will seek another loan spell in the January window. Chalobah will return to Stamford Bridge next month after completing his loan deal with Championship side Nottingham Forest. However, Blues officials believe the England Under-21 international has not made the strides expected at Forest and will immediately send the youngster out again. Chalobah has only appeared five times for Forest boss Billy Davies, scoring the solitary goal, while earning the ire of referees after being sent off in the win over Brighton and Hove Albion. However, with Leeds in hot pursuit for a loan deal, Chalobah and Chelsea will hope fortunes will quickly change and the player can rediscover his form from last season when he helped Watford reach the Championship Play-Off Final.
