Jose Mourinho is ready to make a statement in the transfer market by launching an audacious bid for striker Radamel Falcao.

The Colombian has allegedly not fully settled in Ligue 1 since moving to big-spending Monaco from Atletico Madrid last summer. The Daily Mirror and Daily Mail both report Mourinho is set to make a move for the 27-year-old. It is also said the Chelsea manager is prepared to make Fernando Torres a part of the deal in order to shake up his attacking force at Stamford Bridge.

Falcao and Mourinho share the same agent -- Jorge Mendes -- which has added fuel to the speculation a deal could be in the offing.

The Daily Mirror claims Manchester United boss David Moyes is also set to make a splash in January, with Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta believed to be on top of his wish list. The 29-year-old has not yet signed a new deal at the Camp Nou, and United are eager to bolster their midfield as they aim to get back into the Premier League title race.

On the way out of Old Trafford, however, could be Wilfried Zaha. According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Newcastle want to sign the starlet on loan as he seeks more game time. Zaha joined United from Crystal Palace, but has not yet established himself as a first-team regular, particularly following the emergence of Adnan Januzaj, and Alan Pardew appears set to throw him a lifeline when the transfer window re-opens.
