Joe Hart's downward slide looks set to continue, with the Sunday People reporting Manuel Pellegrini is keen to offload the England No. 1 -- and the Chilean already has his replacement in mind. The report suggests Barcelona's Victor Valdes could replace Hart at Manchester City if the 26-year-old is pushed out, putting Costel Pantilimon back in the number two spot. Valdes has made it public that he will leave the Camp Nou at the end of the season, but if he decides to go elsewhere, Pellegrini will instead turn his attention to QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar.

Sticking with the Spanish champions and they could soon have David Luiz on their books, with the Daily Mail reporting Chelsea will sell the defender in January. Luiz was a target for Barca in the summer, but Jose Mourinho's side reportedly turned down two separate offers for the Brazilian. But the Portuguese boss now believes Luiz is not a crucial element of his defensive set-up and will happily offload him to Barca. Gerardo Martino was keen to add to his backline ahead of this season and, although the Catalan side have conceded the least amount of goals in La Liga, they will likely snap up the 26-year-old to bolster their ranks.

Liverpool and Arsenal continue their scrap over transfer targets, this time with Jay Rodriguez as the mooted signing. The Sunday People says the Englishman could be a replacement for Luis Suarez if the Uruguayan leaves Anfield next summer. Arsene Wenger continues to look for attacking options and Rodriguez could be an ideal addition should Nicklas Bendtner find his way out.
