Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is hopeful of signing Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha on loan and he will attempt to lure the youngster to St James' Park with the promise of regular football - something which has evaded him since moving to Old Trafford in the summer. According to the Daily Mirror, Newcastle look most likely to snare Zaha as the 20-year-old continues to struggle to break into David Moyes' starting line-up. The former Crystal Palace player is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League for his new club and Moyes could allow him to leave on loan in January to get some top flight experience. Stoke, West Brom and Everton have also reportedly shown interest in Zaha.

Fiorentina and Inter Milan are battling to sign Southampton midfielder Gaston Ramirez in January, talkSPORT reports. The Uruguayan arrived at St Mary's in a club record deal to much fanfare, but has failed to live up to reach the heights which made him a hot property at Bologna. A return to Italy is now on the cards unless Ramirez's form improves before the end of the year. Turkish giants Galatasaray have also been linked with the 22-year-old and it seems his time in the Premier League is limited.

Brendan Rodgers is hoping to have a repeat of last season's success in the January transfer window -- which saw Liverpool recruit influential players Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge, the Mirror says. It is now Olympiacos forward Konstantinos Mitroglou who is on Rodgers' radar, although Liverpool's owners are likely to provide far less cash than last January after a string of summer signings.
