Bayern Munich confirm Holger Badstuber injury setback

Bayern Munich have announced that defender Holger Badstuber is facing another lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a thigh injury.

Badstuber, 25, had returned to training in May after 17 months out following an anterior cruciate ligament injury and had made three appearances for Bayern in the Bundesliga and one in the DFB-Pokal so far this season.

However, he sustained a tendon tear in his thigh during the 2-0 victory over Stuttgart on Saturday and Bayern announced on their official Twitter account that he is "set to be out for a long period again."

Badstuber told Bayern's official website: "I am very disappointed right now, but I also have learnt how to cope with such a situation. But no worries -- I will be back, and will then continue where I was now after my long injury break. I'm not giving up."
