Jose Mari Bakero and Guillermo Amor will take joint charge of Barcelona's professional youth football area, the club confirmed on Monday.
Bakero and Amor, who both played for Barca during their careers, will oversee transfer activity and contracts for Barca B and the U19A and U19B teams.
The position had been left vacant following former academy chief Pep Segura's promotion to the newly created general manager role last week.
Segura's new position places him ahead of Robert Fernandez in the club hierarchy, although Barca say the sporting director's role working on first team ins and outs will remain unchanged.
Barca are expected to publish a completely new structure as part of a shake-up behind the scenes in the coming days, with Segura, Bakero and Amor's new jobs included in the changes.

Bakero, 54, spent eight seasons at Barcelona between 1988 and 1996, coinciding with Johan Cruyff and helping the club win their first ever European Cup in 1992.
Since retirement he has had several forays into management, coaching Real Sociedad and Lech Poznan, among others.
Amor, 49, was a player at Camp Nou during the same period as Bakero, eventually leaving in 1998 for Fiorentina before ending his career with spells at Villarreal and Livingston.
He returned to the club in 2004 and has spent the best part of the last decade working with Barca's academy, briefly leaving the club in 2015 to work as first team coach at Australian side Adelaide United.
They take over with Barca B, under coach Gerard Lopez, having earned promotion back to the second tier of Spanish football last season.
