Luis Enrique 'one of the best managers in Barcelona history' - Gerard Pique

Luis Enrique will leave Barcelona this summer as one of the club's greatest ever managers regardless of what happens in this weekend's Copa del Rey final, Gerard Pique has said.

Barca play Alaves at the Vicente Calderon on Saturday as they bid to end the season on a high having missed out in the Champions League and La Liga.

It will be Luis Enrique's last game in charge of the club as he departs after three years and eight trophies -- nine if they can beat Alaves -- at the helm.

"The easiest thing to remember is the titles, and there have been a lot, but there are many good memories," Pique said in a news conference on Friday when asked to reflect on Luis Enrique's tenure.

"But what stays with me is his way of being. I know he doesn't always have an easy relationship with you [the journalists] but in the dressing room he has won us all over.

"He's been one of the best managers in the club's history. These three years have been magnificent, for the titles we have won but also due to many other things. I hope he goes out with a trophy in the way that he deserves."

In total, Luis Enrique has spent 14 years with Barcelona -- eight as a player, three in charge of the B team and now three managing the first team -- and speaking after Pique he refused to rule out coaching the club again in the future.

"Maybe on July 10 I will come [back] and surprise you all, give some of you a heart attack," he joked in his final news conference at the club's training ground, before responding more seriously to being questioned about returning to Barca in the future.

"Never say never. It's my home, the club which has shown the most confidence in me. I'm young, nice, friendly ... I have it all. Who knows? Maybe in time there will be another opportunity, but in the next few years, no."

Luis Enrique insisted he has no plans to coach any other clubs at the moment and his immediate thoughts are solely focused on saying goodbye with a win against Alaves.

"What interests me is that we play well in the final," he added. "I don't care that it's my last game.

"It's a unique event for Alaves, which will motivate them 1,000 percent. Although that can be a double-edged sword. It could come with an excess of tension, whereas we are used to playing in finals.

"Maybe they are more excited than us, but they are not more ambitious. I've never known a group of players more ambitious than this Barca team."

Javier Mascherano is fit to return to the side and could fill in at right-back for Sergi Roberto, who is suspended as well as injured, while Luis Enrique also suggested Aleix Vidal could make an early return to action, just three months after dislocating his ankle against Alaves in La Liga.

Barca are also without Luis Suarez who, like Roberto, is both suspended and injured. Paco Alcacer is therefore likely to start in attack.
