Barcelona's Neymar: I don't watch much of Real Madrid games

Barcelona forward Neymar says he cannot give an opinion on Real Madrid -- as he rarely watches them play.

Neymar, 23, has been in outstanding form of late, helping to keep Barca neck-and-neck with Madrid at the top of the Primera Division table -- Rafa Benitez's side are ahead on goal difference -- even with Lionel Messi out injured.

Asked for his thoughts on Los Blancos ahead of the Clasico at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Nov. 21, the Brazil captain told beIN SPORTS ESPANA that it was difficult to answer as he almost never watched other teams in action.

"I don't like to watch many games where Barca are not playing, and I don't watch much of Madrid," Neymar said. "Sometimes when my friends are watching, I will watch for a while, but not all the game as I don't like it. So I cannot give an opinion on what I do not see. I don't like watching games at all, not just because it is Madrid."

Neymar knew enough to add that Madrid were a "great team" with lots of quality players, however, he said he was mostly concerned about what Barca could bring to the game.

"Madrid have a great team. They have players with a lot of quality, they are always battling among the best teams," he said. "We must do our own job, not always look at what Madrid do, just focus on ourselves."

Neymar scored at the Bernabeu last November, although Barca eventually lost that game 3-1, while he then missed an easy chance in an otherwise impressive display as his team won the reverse fixture 2-1 in March.

"To score in my first Clasico was a great moment," he said. "I had always dreamed of playing in a game between Barcelona and Real Madrid and I scored in my first. My family were there and my friends in the stadium, and they were all very happy. I hope things can go even better for me against Real Madrid than they have so far."

The key to the success of Barca's South American trio, according to Neymar, was that they all got on well on and off the pitch, while he and Luis Suarez knew how to "adapt their play" to fit with Messi's game.

"I hope we can enjoy many years together, with Messi and Luis Suarez, and in our best form," he said. "I do not know if we are the best but we are doing a good job. We have a great friendship on and off the pitch, and that helps a lot.

"I knew how Barcelona played [before joining] and I loved their way of playing and the players the club had. I knew Leo was there. He is the best, and I adapted to his play. Leo gets on the ball more than anyone, and Suarez and I must make movements to create chances to score."
