Roberto Carlos has said he would bring "a winning mentality" to South Melbourne if the club succeeds in joining an expanded A-League.
Former Brazil international Carlos is in talks about taking over as coach if the club makes a return to Australia's top division.
Speaking at a news conference in Melbourne, he said: "My life is football and always has been.
"My idea would be to come here and keep winning. If I go to a club and marry a project, I go to win. I have a winning mentality.
"I only want to teach kids how to play football."

Carlos said he believed South Melbourne had good players and added: "The most important thing now is for the club to go to the A-League and then together we make more history."
His coaching career has included spells at Russian Premier League club Anzhi Makhachkala, Turkish sides Sivasspor and Akhisar Belediyespor and Delhi Dynamos.
