Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez will miss the Champions League first-leg semifinal against Real Madrid on Tuesday after suffering an adductor muscle injury.
Gimenez, 22, has filled in well at right-back in recent games with specialists Sime Vrsaljko and Juanfran Torres both currently sidelined. However, he was injured during Atletico's 5-0 rout of Las Palmas, after a challenge with Kevin-Prince Boateng in the 25th minute, and the club confirmed he will now be out for some time.

Manager Diego Simeone will bring in either young versatile defender Lucas Hernandez or midfielder Thomas Partey (who replaced Gimenez on Saturday) for the game -- a repeat of last season's Champions League final which ended in a penalty shootout loss to their Madrid neighbours.
