Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has said he has to nurse his Achilles problem every day but hopes to overcome a calf problem to be fit for the final games of the season.
Koscielny is a doubt for Tuesday's home game against Sunderland and told Sky Sports he may miss it in order to play in the Premier League finale against Everton on Sunday and the FA Cup final against Chelsea the following weekend.
"I am prepared to miss Sunderland to be fit for the last two games of this season. Sometimes it is better to miss one game to be fit for the others," he said.
The France international has battled a recurring Achilles problem which flared up again after the international break in March.
At the time, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said Koscielny undergoes a special treatment programme to keep it under control.
And the defender said: "I have some problems. Now it is better. I know it is a difficult injury because you need to work every day on this.
"Every morning I have my treatment for my Achilles and I know I need to do this to the end of my career. Sometimes with all the games we play every three days, it is difficult and I need to have a rest to recover well.
"You need to be careful with this because if you stop doing your own exercise programme for one or two weeks, the problem will come back."
Koscielny has been Arsenal's de facto captain this season in place of Per Mertesacker, who has not made a single appearance since being handed the armband last summer.
But he said he still does not know whether Wenger will decide to stay for two more years after his contract expires this summer.
"It is a difficult situation -- we don't know what happens with the boss," he said. "But we are professional, we are salaried to this club and we just want to have the best result for this club, not to think about other situations or this situation of the boss.
"This is a situation, maybe some players don't feel great but you need to be focused on our job and have the best results for Arsenal.
"I think we will all respect his decision, he gave a lot for this club during 20 years. He did an unbelievable job so we need to respect this and his decision.''
